Huge redesign

Thursday, August 19th, 2010

Hey everyone,

You may have noticed a complete redesign of the website being underway at the moment. It’s mostly complete at the time of writing however there are still a few key pages to change (including the welcome page), however you should find the site has now changed from being mostly text, dull and drab into a much more graphical picture filled website with nice things to look at. For example the games section of the website (as well as being located in a different place due to the restructuring) no longer contains just a textual list of the games that I own / want and instead contains pictures of the cover art for each of the games. Not only does this make the site look a lot better (in my opinion) but for the sakes of Christmas and Birthday lists where people may be looking for a game I have listed myself as interested in, they now know exactly what the box will look like, rather than just having a name to go by.

I hope you all like the new site look and feel, and please bear with me whilst I am upgrading the other pages. However you should never find a page that does not work, so if you manage to come across a broken link, or page that doesnt render correctly or doesnt work please let me know so I can fix these issues as soon as possible. Thanks again

Social secretary

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010

I have applied (and been accepted) as the social secretary for the choir I sing with in Redditch recently. I’ve been looking through some ideas that I’ve had like a wine tasting evening that is being planned. And a few other things like theater trips and pub trips. I also need to work on a social website for the choir to let people find things quickly and easily. I’ve designed a new logo to go with the website as I had a couple of mins free last night. It’s nothing great, just a simple design but I can’t seem to find any other logo on the main website.

Hopefully the site will be up before too long. I’m wanting to get a loose structure in place which I can then add functionality to over time

New Section

Thursday, January 7th, 2010

You may have noticed a new ‘games’ menu item on the main menu bar of the website. This has been added recently to collate all the useful hints and tips for different PS3 games that I have. I tend to have to keep some bookmarks handy on my browser and bounce around various different websites to get hold of hints and tips, so I decided to collate them all into one place to make them easy to find for me and pull them together for anyone else who is looking for any hints and tips and happens to use my website.

I would like to point out that I don’t claim any originality or innovative work for these tips. I have just pulled all the stuff into one place and do not deserve the credit for the person who actually went out there and found all these things out. I also apologize for this being a very short list of games and hints and tips. It was not my intention to become yet another games tips website, so I won’t have hints and tips for all the games that may be out there, but in all likelihood from now on, if I own the game then there is likely to be some hints and tips for it on here if the game requires any hints or tips. I hope the new section will be of use to you and good luck to all you gamers out there.

Changes

Thursday, August 6th, 2009

Well I’ve been working on changing a few things around the website (as you may have noticed). There is now a modified menu bar on the website and a new photo gallery section which has many new features and aspects added to it. Hopefully you will find it easier to navigate, better to use and it should load faster, whilst also adding the new feature of allowing you to comment on any of the pictures. The events section of the website has also been redesigned with better categories of things and protected sections of the website – requiring login to access – offering pages to certain people. What do you think of it? Do you like it? Please leave me a comment below and let me know.

Other than this I have had a bit of a tidy up at home (generally). I have reorganised the kitchen cupboards, sorted out various files on the computers, recommissioned the media centre and re-preped it with Windows 7 RC for a prettier Media Centre interface. I got a long Cat6 cable to hardwire the PS3 into the router to provide more reliable connection to the internet (i dont think it liked living under a big CRT TV to get signal, and since I can’t afford a nice new flat screen TV at the moment, this will have to be the next best thing).
