Google

Friday, October 30th, 2009

Well my google ranking seems to have improved a lot somehow. I don’t know if its via hits or links (and I can’t think from where I am getting many links either) but for a while now this website has been the number 3 result in google.co.uk when searching for ‘Alexander Smith’ so I guess that is quite an achievement for me. Particuarly for a hobby site/blog.

Update

Thursday, October 29th, 2009

Ok, so I just got an email to remind me that I haven’t updated my blog since September, so here is a new post for you all to read.

I’m not sure what to talk about though, so I’ll just go for a mind dump and you can sift through the information.

Went to the RAF museum in Cosford, which is an excellent airforce museum that I would highly recommend anyone to visit. We couldn’t get through all the planes in one day so Sarah and I will be going back at some point in the future. Sarah did surprise me with some lovely jet plane cufflinks as a random present from the gift shop, which are really nice and I wear as often as I have shirts that allow it.

Got several new games for the PS3 that we are working through at the moment. I’m getting close to completing the Fallout game, but I have put it to one side at the moment whilst I try to complete the Batman: Arkham Asylum game which I have been loaned by a good friend from work. It’s quite a good game really, but I get the feeling that once I have completed it there won’t be much replayability. So I may purchase the game myself at some point, but not until the prices come down quite a bit from what they are currently asking for it. We also have Bioshock to work through, and I have bought the MGS4 game that I completed a while ago so that Sarah can have a go on it. It was a good game, another one that I can’t see myself replaying much, but fun non-the-less.

We are planning, and hosting, a bonfire night party in early November for a lot of close friends. Looking at lots of fireworks that we can buy and even a remote launching system (oo la la) so that I can stand back and enjoy the fireworks show myself (not to mention to advantages of not scrabbling at the end of the garden and the reduced risk of injury or burning or something. Quite looking forward to it as well. Should be a great evening.

We have moved the house around several times since the last post, but its always for the better each time, and hopefully we are coming to a final design now as well. The media centre may finally have a real use in the home gym as well, to allow us to watch something we want to see whilst working out on the gym machines, but we shall see. I still have to recommission it yet to get it working properly. On which note we have also joined (re-joined in my case) a gym so that I can try get into better shape. Plus the steam room, sauna, swimming benefits :-)
